When I’m dealing with customers, often times after they have decided to invest in my products, they tell me or my manager that I’m a good salesman. Though they have good intentions, it’s really not true. To me, I’m an “OK” salesman who’s still learning. However, it was not my sales skills that motivated their decision. It was my quality customer service. You see, I’m new to sales, but I’m not new to customer service. I’ve been mastering quality customer service for over 20 years. To me, this is the source of success for any business, not selling. People love to go shopping, but they don’t like to be sold. The secret to my sales success is not “selling”, but “quality customer service”. The difference between me and a salesman is:
A salesman will do anything to make a sale.I’ll do anything to make you happy.
This not only helps in business, but also in life. Be the kind of person that makes people feel like a million bucks. Do all you can to make people happy and they will do all they can to make you happy.
