“When your goals aren’t clear or specific, you waste a lot of time on things that are ‘good’ for you, leaving no time for the ‘great’ to happen. ”Every salesperson dreads when they hear a customer say, “I’m just looking.” There are many reasons why the customer says this. It could mean they don’t want to be bothered by a salesperson. They may just want to think on their own. Or they could really be “just looking”. The reason this frustrates the salesperson is because it limits their ability to help the customer. If they can’t help the customer, then they probably won’t find out about the benefits of the product or discover the value in what they’re looking for. But if the customer reveals the particular thing they’re looking for, then the salesperson has a better chance of meeting their need. So being specific helps everyone win.~ Billie Miller
Are you “just looking” when it comes to your dream? Are your goals too broad? If you have broad goals, then you will have broad results. If you shoot at everything, you probably won’t hit anything. Get specific. For example don’t say, “I want to lose weight.”, but say, “I want to weigh 135 pounds by August 1.” It’s easier to hit a target once you have one to aim at. Be clear and be specific…real specific.
