JUST LOOKING.

“When your goals aren’t clear or specific, you waste a lot of time on things that are ‘good’ for you, leaving no time for the ‘great’ to happen. ”

~ Billie Miller

Every salesperson dreads when they hear a customer say, “I’m just looking.” There are many reasons why the customer says this. It could mean they don’t want to be bothered by a salesperson. They may just want to think on their own. Or they could really be “just looking”. The reason this frustrates the salesperson is because it limits their ability to help the customer. If they can’t help the customer, then they probably won’t find out about the benefits of the product or discover the value in what they’re looking for. But if the customer reveals the particular thing they’re looking for, then the salesperson has a better chance of meeting their need. So being specific helps everyone win.

Are you “just looking” when it comes to your dream? Are your goals too broad? If you have broad goals, then you will have broad results. If you shoot at everything, you probably won’t hit anything. Get specific. For example don’t say, “I want to lose weight.”, but say, “I want to weigh 135 pounds by August 1.” It’s easier to hit a target once you have one to aim at. Be clear and be specific…real specific.

PENNY FOR YOUR THOUGHTS

“Push pause on your busy schedule and focus on what’s really needed.”
~ Billie Miller
I met this lady named Penny who came in the furniture store to buy an inexpensive mattress and box spring. I led her to the least expensive, good quality mattresses. As I was explaining to her the benefits and value of the product, I noticed Penny wasn’t really paying attention. She seemed distracted. She then said, “I’m sorry. I’m not trying to ignore you, but I have a lot on my mind. I’m sorry, please continue.” So I continued but I couldn’t help but notice the stress that was weighing on her. So I interrupted the presentation and asked, “Penny, would you like for me to pray for you?” Penny looked me in the eyes and said, “Yes, please.”

We held hands and prayed right there on the spot. After I prayed she got immediate results. Little did I know, Penny was in a situation where all she had was an empty apartment and a TV and just needed something to sleep on. I told her about our financing program, she got approved, and was able to furnish her whole apartment! I believe she got her answers because she took the time to pray. You may be stressed out with many things on your mind just like Penny. Make some alone time to pray and meditate so you can see things clearly. And expect the best.
